Attention aspiring artists!

Do you have a teen who is considering a career in art?  Art colleges in Columbus, Cincinnati, Oxford, Bowling Green and Cleveland are all hosing National Portfolio Day events in September through October.

At a National Portfolio Day event, your teen will have the opportunity to present some of his or her work and have it reviewed by art school representatives. While neither scholarships nor admissions will be offered during these events, they will serve as great ways for your teen to present his or her work and learn from professionals about how to develop his or her ideas and techniques.

All of this exposure and experience will certainly help your aspiring artist…as well as help your family discern whether art school is the right next step for your student. If your teen is serious about considering a career in art, take the time to visit any or all of Ohio’s National Portfolio Days. The schedule is as follows:

Oxford–Miami University (Sept 16, 2017)

Bowling Green–Bowling Green State University, School of Art (September 29, 2017)

Columbus–Columbus College of Art and Design (Oct 2, 2017)

Cincinnati–Art Academy of Cincinnati (October 7, 2017)

Cleveland–Cleveland Institute of Art (October 8, 2017)

Have your teen be ready with his or her portfolio! And it doesn’t have to be perfect. Tell your teen not to fret about unfinished work–even works-in-progress are great tools for feedback.
